Such was the time

Disclaimer : The following poem has no relation with my or anyone else's life, if it happens then it it sheer luck of that poor fellow

I miss the dreams we had,
I miss the moments that made you glad,
I miss the future that we could see,
I miss the person I used to be.

As our love grew old,
It couldn't be a sweet as I was told,
I don't blame it on the TIME,
But is the fault really mine,

The TIME could never erase the memories,
I still remember sound of those melodies,
That we sang together on the longest walks
In the coldest nights after the dearest talks.
Your much awaited silent yawn and sneeze,
When we walked along the sea-shore breeze.
I still see your frowning face,
When lying to you for being late,

Oh! "late" reminds me of the same TIME,
That points me to a truth, that I can't hide.

I remember the times you gave your funny laughter
At my funny stories and poor jokes after ,
I could never tell you how weired you looked with your favorite dress,
Neither could I tell I never liked the first shirt you gifted me.
So I started gathering the fear to tell the truth,
And courage to lie to myself, to you.

Your obvious love shattered my heart to dust,
When I started seeing you only under the skies of lust,
I could not share your pains anymore,
I just walked away then,
leaving you behind the closed door,
the more you tried to come near to me,
more I started cribbing about my work,
more I hated your that sad look,

Trust me I was still good at heart,
Always knew it was me and not you,who was at fault,
I tried to run away from you,
just because I couldn't face you.

I know that you knew it too,
that is why you still waited for me
in the hot summer afternoon,
the occasion being the anniversary,
when we first met,
with our friend around making you afraid.

Oh, TIME could not erase the memories.

Now I cant face you because I know what you know
what you share with the TIME, that I just wanted to flow.
Both of you know a truth, that doesn't hurt, but that kills,
that take all my hopes away,
miles ahead of the horizon, where the light holds no sway.

Now I hate the presence of our love in the past,
an it's present absence, it's very existence that couldn't last.
Now I wait for more punishment that is yet to come,
I wish time could be my better friend, the truth could be less cruel some.
